STATEMENT OF FAITH
At Park Ridge Christian School, we believe that the Holy Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God and is the final authority for faith, truth, and conduct. Because God is the Creator and Lord of all, His Word provides the foundation for all teaching, learning, and living.
The Scriptures
We believe the Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired by God and is God’s revelation of Himself to mankind. The Scriptures are true, trustworthy, and without error in all that they affirm and serve as the supreme standard by which all human conduct, beliefs, and opinions should be tested.
Supporting Scriptures: 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 119:105; Hebrews 4:12.
God
We believe there is one true and living God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is all-powerful, all-knowing, all-loving, holy, and sovereign over all creation.
Supporting Scriptures: Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; Isaiah 46:9-10; Revelation 4:11.
God the Father
We believe God the Father reigns with providential care over His universe, His creatures, and the flow of human history according to His purposes of grace and redemption. He is a loving Father to all who become His children through faith in Jesus Christ.
Supporting Scriptures: Psalm 103:19; Ephesians 4:6; John 1:12; Romans 8:15.
Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died on the cross as the substitute and sacrifice for our sins, was bodily resurrected, ascended into heaven, and will one day return in power and glory.
Supporting Scriptures: John 1:1-4, 14; Matthew 1:23; 1 Peter 2:24; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Acts 1:11.
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God and works in the world to convict of sin, draw people to Christ, and indwell, guide, comfort, and empower believers for godly living and service.
Supporting Scriptures: John 14:16-17; John 16:7-13; Romans 8:9-11; Galatians 5:22-23.
Humanity
We believe that all people are created in the image of God and therefore possess inherent dignity, worth, and value from conception to natural death. God created mankind intentionally and wonderfully.
Supporting Scriptures: Genesis 1:26-27; Psalm 139:13-16; Jeremiah 1:5.
God’s Design for Male and Female
We believe that God created humanity as two distinct and complementary sexes—male and female. These biological sexes are a gift from God and reflect His good and perfect design. We affirm that a person’s identity is rooted in God’s created order and not in subjective feelings or cultural definitions.
Supporting Scriptures: Genesis 1:27; Genesis 2:18-24; Matthew 19:4-6; Mark 10:6.
Sin and Salvation
We believe that all people are sinners by nature and by choice and are separated from God because of sin. Salvation is the free gift of God’s grace, made possible only through the shed blood, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is received by grace through faith in Him alone.
Supporting Scriptures: Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 14:6; Romans 10:9-10.
Marriage and Family
We believe that God established the family as the foundational institution of society. Marriage is God’s design and is a covenant between one man and one woman. Children are a blessing from the Lord and are to be loved, protected, and nurtured according to biblical principles.
Supporting Scriptures: Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4-6; Psalm 127:3; Ephesians 6:1-4.
The Sanctity of Human Life
We believe that every human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of immeasurable worth and should be protected and valued from conception until natural death.
Supporting Scriptures: Psalm 139:13-16; Jeremiah 1:5; Proverbs 24:11-12.
Christian Education
We believe that all wisdom and knowledge are found in Jesus Christ and that education should be rooted in biblical truth. Christian education seeks to develop students spiritually, academically, physically, and socially so that they may love God, serve others, and glorify Him in every area of life.
Supporting Scriptures: Colossians 2:2-3; Proverbs 1:7; Luke 2:52; Deuteronomy 6:6-7.
Final Authority
The statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God, is the final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind. For purposes of doctrine, practice, policy, and discipline, the administration of Park Ridge Christian School shall look to the Scriptures as the final authority.
Supporting Scriptures: Psalm 19:7-11; Isaiah 40:8; John 17:17.
